Buy Golf 7 Rear Seat Bench Foam – Genuine Volkswagen Replacement Parts
Product Description
Comfort is a hallmark of the Volkswagen driving experience, but over years of daily use, the foam cushioning in your rear seats can begin to lose its density, leading to a sagging appearance or a lack of support for passengers. The Genuine Volkswagen Golf 7 Rear Seat Bench Foam (OEM Part Number: 5G0 885 375 K) is the precise factory-grade replacement designed to restore the original ergonomics and comfort level of your Golf’s cabin.
Whether you are refurbishing your interior to maintain the vehicle’s value or simply want to ensure your rear passengers enjoy the ride, this genuine foam base is the perfect solution.
Compatibility & Fitment
This rear seat bench foam is designed specifically for the Volkswagen Golf 7 (5G) Hatchback models.
OEM Reference: 5G0 885 375 K.
Engineering Precision: This is not a generic seat cushion; it is a molded automotive-grade polyurethane component engineered for long-term vibration damping and support.
Important: Compatibility can vary depending on specific trim levels and seat options. We recommend providing your VIN at checkout so our specialists can verify this is the correct foam density for your vehicle’s specific seat configuration.
How It Works
The rear seat foam acts as the foundation for your vehicle’s interior comfort.
Support: It is engineered with specific density zones to support the weight of passengers while providing a stable base for the seat upholstery.
Longevity: Genuine foam is designed to resist “bottoming out” over time, maintaining its shape and support profile long after lower-quality materials would have deteriorated.
Symptoms of Wear: If you notice that your seat feels significantly thinner, or if the fabric is becoming loose or bunched due to the underlying foam failing, replacing the foam will return the interior to a “factory-fresh” feel.
Performance Benefits
Restored Ergonomics: Provides the level of support intended by Volkswagen’s seat design team.
Aesthetic Improvement: A firm, well-shaped cushion keeps the seat cover taut and wrinkle-free.
Increased Passenger Comfort: Minimizes fatigue during long journeys.
OEM Authenticity: Ensures that the seat retains its original safety characteristics and fitment.
Build Quality & Engineering
Volkswagen seat foam is subject to rigorous testing for durability, pressure distribution, and flame retardancy. This part is identical to the one installed on the assembly line, ensuring it will withstand years of temperature fluctuations and heavy daily use without breaking down.
Installation & Maintenance
Replacing seat foam involves removing the rear seat base and detaching the upholstery.
Fitting: This task requires some upholstery experience (removing hog rings or clips). If you are not confident in your ability to dismantle the seat cover, we recommend having this installed by a professional trimmer or a Volkswagen-specialized garage.
Maintenance: Once installed, this foam requires no maintenance and will provide years of reliable comfort.
